Hello,

I have just bought a new entry level GPU (An Nvidia Geforce 9400GT 1GB).

My PC's PSU is labelled as 300w max output, but this is not the only wattage figure on the sticker. Since my new GPU requires 300w to rnu, is this PSU going to be enough?

It should be enough but, if you see some bad performance later on, try looking for a newer model.

Whats the exact 300w?

brand name, etc.

Er.. I'm using the computer right now so checking could be difficult. The manufacturer begins with a B and the Pc is an Advent T9409 (about 2 years old). That help?

It's a Bestec, ATX-300-12EB3.

Getting the 9 series, i would suggest a psu upgrade, never trusted a already built pc's psu.

Corsair/antec 400w/500w, You live in the UK?

If your wanting a 9 series, yes, it is because as of almost alot of other companies, they put in a low grade psu as usual. 300w bestec probably wouldnt power the 9400gt very much, do you game?

If anything, i would look at the BFG tech or a corsair.

Yeah i'm upgrading to play recent games. I can't go back on the 9400. Will the antec i said do the job?

The one you picked has 2 split rails of 15a and 17a which is really low.

Find something that has a 12v rail of atleast 25+ in a single or 18 a on split 12v rails

Its the same PSu as the one you just chose

(Is that the same as the corsair i suggested above?)

Never mind. Thanks for your help.
