SATA drive not display in my computer ?

Hello,
SATA HD in Compaq-CQ40AMD has been locked after installing XP. Taken out and try to connect thro' USB on other notebook also does not work. But it is listed in "device manager" but not displayed "my computer". Please help me to re-format it...

It sounds like you need to use Disk Management to partition and format the drive.

WARNING - formatting the drive will DESTROY all the data on it.

Start Disk Management (Start -> Right-click "Computer", select "Manage", click the "Disk Management" link in the left pane).

Find your drive in the LOWER portion of the RIGHT pane.

Right-click the drive to create a volume (partition) it and then again to format it.
