Update GIGABYTE Bios with Different Revision Number

I have a GIGABYTE ga-ep45-ud3p rev 1.1
can i update the bios with the rev 1.6 bios?

Read the changes listed for version 1.6 first. If your system runs fine, I wouldn't do it. Bios flashes are always a little tricky, and can result in a dead board if something goes wrong. And new bios versions rarely improve overclocking capabilities.

my system is not running fine. im getting choppy audio no matter what card i use (onboard or pci audio) on windows vista and 7. linux and osx are fine. all drivers are up to date. and my bios is up to date for rev 1.1

Check the connections from your speakers to the box. I once held a wire in place to determine if the connection was bad.

If it's fine on one OS and not another I'd say it's a driver issue not hardware BIOS.

No. The bios revisions are completely different and it looks like 1.6 uses a different bios chip. If you were able to flash the bios, you'd probably brick the board.
