How should the gtx 295 perform in high end games like Empire Total War and Fallout 3??? Shouldnt it be like over 60 fps? I just got an EVGA gtx 295 and it barely plays those games with all settings maxed and resolution at 1920x1200. Theres gotta be some reason it is slow and stuttering, cause I dont think it should be this bad. Anyone else have a gtx 295 that doesnt perform that well?? Thanks

That is strange, indeed, since I have a single 8800gtx and I play Fallout 3 at absolutely smooth framerates, I have 6gigs of ddr2, core2duo 6700@ 3.25. , creative xfi soundblaster & windows vista 64-bit.
Your gpu and cpu are way better than mine...the 295 is better than 2 gtx260s in sli, and although your cpu clockspeed is slower, your mobo runs @ 1333mhz, as opposed to my 1066mhz. Have you tried updating the video drivers. What else is running in the background?? Anti virus programs??? Is you hard drive defragmented?? There could be a lot of things possible, But to answer your question, with everything normal, you should be able to max out Fallout 3 atleast. Even empire total war should be fine, coz you have a quad core cpu...and it is very cpu intensive, your graphics power is great too. You need to check a few things to find out where the problem is...

it's possible you have a defective card OP. My 295 runs crysis 1920x1200 Highest Settings 2xAA with framerates in the high 50s. I might attempt to contact EVGA and see if they can help you determine if your card needs to RMA'd
