So i'm building a new Ph2 rig (was going with core i7 before but couldn't justify the amount of money i needed to spend on it.)
So i've been searching for a board with DDR3 support, that could hold the Ph2, and give some nice features with it
Originally i was dead set on a Nvidia chipset board, because well me and ATI just don't get along very well. However, it seems like there were no DDR3 boards to be found with the Nvidia chipset(atleast ones from Asus, Foxconn ect.)
So now my question on this is, my board i'm looking at has
Memory Standard DDR3 1600(O.C.) / 1333 / 1066
in it's specifications, does that mean i can only hit 1600 if I O.C something? because i was planning on using 8 gigs of OCZ Special Ops DDR 3 (2 pairs of this.)
No, 1600 means you can use RAM at that speed once you adjust the timings in the Bios....If you were to overclock that same Ram it would be over 1600Mhz.....
I just got that board and am going to build my system as soon as my psu comes in tomorrow, I hope. I wont be overclocking for a while but here are a few sites that I found on the subject.

haha, thinking of throwing a 4870 x2 in there as well.
that article seems really biased, and contradicting to some other reviews i've read, but i will keep it in mind now. I've always been a Nvidia/AMD fan though..
Anandtech is one of the highest trusted sources we have ATM.... maybe your "reviews" were from some other source.. who knows...
I have benched with dual 9800GTX+'s and dual GTS 250's and the numbers compared to Anandtech and Overclocker's Club seem to be very similar an accurate...
Same as benching with dual 4770's in Xfire...it's just amazing what you can do with low-mid range cards in a dual setup.....
