No voltage on the satellie in port ( should be 13-18 volts dc. Is this a
easy fix on a RCA DRD435? Both fuses good, but it only outputs .05 to 0.07
volts on that port.

Thanks

Make sure you are measuring the correct potential and that it is really DC
volts. I don't know about the receiver particulars.

Other than that, why are you measuring the voltage?

I am not getting even transponders. I have found on the web that it should
alernate between 13volts and 18volts DC on the satellite in. My working
reciver does, this ones does not. Any ideas? Its like the power supply
section for this is not working but the regulating part is.

Thanks

I don't know about the voltages. I know I just had to replace a HD receiver
because it would not get some transponders with sufficient strength to get a
good picture, usually around 30 to 35, while others were around 100. . I
knew it was my receiver because another receiver got the transponders fine.

Does the voltage show correctly for the transponders you do get? I just
figured it was my tuner section, but you may be more accurate. I looked for
another box like mine to replace parts, but could not find one at a low
enough price to make it worth while.

Where did you find the info on the receivers?

Setting your transponder to an ODD transponder in the menuing system
should yield you approx. 13V at the SAT IN input. Changing your
transponder to an EVEN transponder will yield 18V at your SAT IN
input. This needs to be measured with a DC voltmeter or a satellite
meter capable of measuring voltage.

The fact that you're not getting any even transponders has me thinking
you've got a cabling problem. When you say your working receiver
"does", are you actually swapping receivers and you're having the same
problem at a particular location in your home? If swapping receivers
"fixes" the problem... then it's very likely you do have a bad
receiver. If your good receiver also lacks even transponders at the
same cable location in your home... start checking for a cabling
problem. Could be a rusted/corroded connecter, barrel, ground block
or some braiding touching the stinger/conductor.

Let us know what you find.

It's the voltage that selects/determines which transponder you're
using (odd/even).
