Will a cpu requiring 12 volt (AMD Athlon) not boot up on 10 volt? I think I have a faulty PSU. Only 10 volts at cpu.

The system should not even complete the POST.

So, how do you know it's 10 volts? If you voltage sensor says 10 volts, you can double check by using a dmm and measuring between the yellow and black wires on one of the molex connectors.

That sounds like a bad powersupply to me, still a good idea to check with a volt meter as jsc suggests if that isn't the source of your information as it is. If you need a new supply, get a good quality brand like PC Power and Cooling and that should cut down on the power supply related issues.

I checked voltage w/ a multimeter. The PSU is an Enermax Noisetaker 2

That's what I figured. I'm looking at the Ultra x3 600 watt modular.

Something like a Corsair, or Antec would a good PSU brand. I don't really like Ultra PSUs all that much.
