I keep getting the following BSOD while browsing (but since browsing is the only thing I do, it might not be related to browsing):

DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

0x000000D2 (0x00000000 0x00000002 0x00000008 0x00000000)

How can I stop this?

I recently installed a PCI network card because the onboard card fried during a thunderstorm. The PCI card is running on the latest driver though.

The BSOD occurs whether browsing on Opera or on Google Chrome.

My system:

Windows XP 32
GeForce 9800 GTX+
nForce 680i LT
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.67GHz

update all drivers of your computer
if the bluescreen is still there - then test another motherboard, you said a thunderstorm fried your onboard card - is the card disabled in the bios?

Yes, any type of electrical surge is bad for a computer. While everything on the surface may seem fine, electronics are very susceptible to electrical damage. It can be very time consuming to narrow down to the damage component or components.

Do you have a 2nd computer to test each an every component that suffered the electrical surge?

I'm afraid I don't have a second computer available. I'm hoping that it's my firewall, which is a free ancient version of Kerio. If these BSODs keep happening I will delete my firewall.

Next time I start the computer I will check the BIOS to see if the onboard network is disabled.

I think it doesn`t matter if you disable and delete your firewall
maybe you can solve this problem with updateing your motherboard bios
you can download the current bios version from your motherboard vendor site
