Hi,

I've got Acer Aspire 5738z with phoenix bios, I have just downloaded a new version of bios package from the Acer official site which consist of:

ABVXD.VXD
flash.sys
JV50106.exe
Jv50106.ROM
JV50106.WPH

when I run JV50106.exe it gives me en error : "Open Flash.sys fail" even when I run it as an administrator or in safe mode. Anyone knows what could be the reason or how to update bios otherwise ?

Are you sure you downloaded the correct package? Where did you download the update from?

Why are you updating you BIOS in the first place?
When you think of your BIOS, you had best be thinking, "if it is not broke, don't fix it."
