9800GTX

But you shouldn't buy either when there's the HD4830, HD4850 and GTS250.

9800 gt < 9800 gtx < 9800 gtx+... the last one is roughly if not exactly the same thing as the GTS 250. Watch the warranty on the gts 250, though. EVGA has lifetime on the 9800's models that I've seen and only 2 years on the gts 250's.

Last time I looked the best price for the 250's was at zipzoomfly.com

go for the radeon 4830 if you want similar to geforce 9800gt (but 4830 is slightly faster than 9800gt). in the other side, radeon 4850 is better than 9800gtx or 9800gtx+ :D

8800/9800GT ~ 4830
9800GTX/GTX+/GTS250 ~ 4850

As stated above:

8800GT = 9800GT
8800GTS 512 = 9800GTX < 9800GTX+

The new GTX 250 is basically an upgraded 9800GTX+.

If you want to go nVidia, I'd get the GTX 250 since it's basically the absolute latest iteration of the G92 chipset. This ensure the best future capability to go SLI or the likes.

For AMD/ATI look at the 4850 to compare with the GTX 250.

2 x MSI GTX 260 Core 216 SLI (655Mhz) / 4GB GSkill DDR3 1600 9-9-9-24 @1.5v
2 x WD Caviar Black 1TB / Thermaltake Armor BWS8003
Win 7 64bit / Antec TPQ-850

well i dunno... lately the prices on the 4870 have dropped into the 160's :))
and 4870 would totally pwn all of the above listed pretty much ;)
