I'm looking to build a gaming PC and i'm trying to resonably future proof it without going overboard, have been reading the best video cards for the money articles which are immensly useful.
I need a graphics card that will allow me to play most games , crysis warhead, fracry 2 etc on my samsung series 6 46" lcd, which i think is 1080x1920, initially was going to fork out for a gtx 295 or 285 but now im wondering if i need them, would rather not spend that much unless it was really recommended that i needed those for good performance
Edit, sorry forgot to mention it will be an I7 920 with 6 GB DDR3 ram

definitely a gtx 295, at 46" a small flinch of frame skip will hurt your eyes. i think thats 1080p so that'll make it 1920x1080 instead.
pairing your jumbo lcdtv with the fastest card out there seems logical isnt it?
but thats only half of the story. you mentioned not going overboard and future proofing, those are 2 contradicting ideas.
what about your other components?
Your right it is contradictory but sure if money was no object we'd just go out and but the best wouldnt we.
What other components? prob go for an 850 PSU, 300gb WD 10 000 RPM caviar and an ASUS p6t.
I should mention that while i love playing these games i'm no hardcore gamer, i'd probably play once every three days or so as opposed to getting online everyday or goin to lan parties, i will use it for other stuff like some video editing and photoshop.
Im not too anal on frame skip if it occured every once in a while, i think?
considering most x58's has 2 16x pci-e slots, a 285 would be a smart choice. add another when the need arises. you have to make sure though that the board you'll be choosing does SLI (some dont).
