Thats $100 instant savings, free shipping, and apparently a free case, although I can't imagine the case is any good.
The review I read here: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.p [...] y4&reid=60 is generally positive, although it cautions that it's mainly designed for systems that use the 12V rails heavily and warns that it doesn't have 8 pin pci-e.
The problem is that I have no idea if the build I am planning needs 8 pin pci-e or relies on 12v rails.
My basic plan is to build a gaming PC with at least a modest OC, based around an i7 920 and some mid to mid-high range graphics power. Was considering running two 4770s in crossfire, but I might go a bit higher end than that with a single card build now and expand to a two card build at some point in the future when the prices go down.
Any modern computer, AMD or Intel, depends on the 12 volt rail(s) for CPU power (figure 10 - 12 amps for an OC'd quad core) and as much as 20 amps or more for an upper end video card.
The 8 pin PCI-e depends on the video card. I know that a 4870 or GTX260 needs two 6 pin PCI-e connectors.
