Hi, i am so uneducated with gfx cards that i have to ask this.
I originally bought the evga 8800gt 1gb to play cod4 and fallout 3. Now i noticed that my fps in cod4 are around 90 fps but sometimes drop as low as 30 (??). Under Fallout3 its sometimes worst.
Then i read about the 260gtx and wonder if this would be a bigger step to upgrade or not at all.
I do like to run my games in my native resolution which is 1440x900. So, does it make sense to upgrade or not really.

thanks :pt1cable:

At that resolution, getting a GTX260 would be a waste...unless you plan to get a bigger monitor in the future.

And 30fps is more than playable. 30 is the required frame rate for playing first person shooter games anyways. Getting a 30 minimum really is actually very good for fps rates.

Owners of the high end GTX280s are lucky if they get 30 AVERAGE in Crysis.

Just stick with what you have now...
