Hey guys, im looking to do my first build and im looking for my motherboard. I was looking at an Asus P5Q-E MB but it had some bad reviews, so im looking away from that, but i still might buy it. Then i started looking around again and i found a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P. Im looking for your guy's advice and maybe some pros and cons about the motherboard.

Im most likely going to do video editing, and stuff like that, but i might play a couple games here and there, so advice is appreciated.

My setup is:

Intel C2D E8400 3.0 GHz
Western Digital 500GB HDD
EVGA GTX 260 Core 216
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066
OCZ Fatal1ty 550W
Samsung SH-S223L Optical Drive

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Flip a coin, they are both great motherboards. However the Gigabyte BIOS is a little easier to OC in.

My P5Q-E has been a great board. The UD3P is just as good. Get whichever costs less.

Well the reviews on newegg say, the board dies easily, and Asus support is horrible.

I think it might come down to me flipping a coin.

Proximon, have you any kind of problems with the P5Q-E?
The Gigabyte is cheaper, so im probably gonna go for it...

Any suggestions, im not looking forward to flipping a coin =/

No my board has been issue free, except for the early BIOS. (I was an early purchaser when the board first came out.)

Here is a great review of the UD3P:

It's a second generation MB, meaning a newer design than the P5Q-E. Perhaps that should be your deciding factor.

Asus with COre 2 Duo... and... none of them with Phenom II...

Gigabyte LGA775 boards are horrible, my Gigabyte 965P-DS3 died 3 times... meaning I got 4 time the same board in less than 16 months.

After my third time, I bought an Asus P5QL pro, never got a problem after that. I sold my 965P-DS3 RMA for 20$ to someone wanting to take the risk... what a fool....

I will never buy another Gigabyte product... and Asus is getting on my nerve lately and managed to get on my black list as well.

Companies on my blacklist:

BFG
Antec
Gigabyte
Asus
Dell
HP

I think im still gonna go with the UD3P because its cheaper, and its a second generation MB, and it has a lot of good reviews.

Thanks for the help guys.
