**The Q9400 and UD3R are combos with the Antec 900 and EA500, respectively. This is a good setup if you don't plan on going SLI/Crossfire in the future.

Here is my suggestion:
https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=8899425
$20 MIR PSU, $10 MIR CPU cooler
Use this combo to get $10 off those components there:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.163660
So after shipping and after rebates you are just over $1k by a few bucks

The PSU I have there is enough so that you can xfire that card in the future when it is no longer enough for your games, but if you don't think you will xfire, then you can go with a Antec Earthwatts EA500 500w PSU which would be fine for that system and put you under budget.

Bossman's build is good too, but lacks an OS and CPU cooler. A cooler allows you to realize the full potential of your system by overclocking. Add $100 to his build for an OS.

I'd go with:

E7500
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
G.Skill Pi Black DDR2-800
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 w/ backplate
Sapphire 4870 1GB Toxic Edition
PCP&C Silencer 750 (red)
WD Caviar Black 640GB
Samsung SH-S223F
Coolermaster CM-690
Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Arctic Cooling MX-2

Total $1,001.38 less $50 MIR

For pure gaming at this price point, I'd just go with an overclocked Core 2 Duo, with room to Crossfire later. This will give you way better overall performance than that pre-built rig, yet leave you room to upgrade the graphics later.
