Memory compatabillity

noob question but necessary. can i use ddr memory in ddr 2 or ddr 3 mother board.

Nope. Only DDR memory in a DDR motherboard, DDR2 memory in a DDR2 motherboard, or DDR3 memory in a DDR3 motherboard. No mixing and matching. The notch positions in the memory modules and the sockets prevent you from inserting the wrong kind of memory.
