My computer will no longer turn on. There is power to the motherboard, the fans are all working, and as long as I have the IDE cable disconnected from the board, the DVD drive has power, but if I connect it to the board it will not turn on.

The power button on the front of my case will power up the fans etc, but it seems there is no power to the SATA hard drive or IDE DVD drive. The LEDs in the front of the case that usually indicate hard drive activity do not ever come on the the computer never powers up, except for the fans.

The problem began when, while the computer was powered up and running, I unplugged my headset which was plugged in the back panel and plugged it into the two jacks on the front panel of my case. The entire computer, fans and all, shut down as soon as I plugged those two jacks in.

Any thoughts? Did I fry my board?? Do I possibly just have jumpers crossed that power the front of the case?

I tried everything including a new PSU, nothing worked. I replaced the motherboard and my system boted up perfectly on the first try.
