Windows xp chkdsk /r says one or more unrecoverable problems

windows xp keeps trying to reboot came up with an "unmountable boot volume". After putting in installation disk and running chkdsk /r getting "one or more unrecoverable problems"...any ideas

Have you tried fixboot in place of chkdsk /r ?
