Hi All,

I've been a lurker for a very long time.. I won't go into details but I'm a Canadian expat working in Mexico and stuff where I am currently is expensive compared to the US and Canadian prices and.. My cat ruined my xfx 8600 GT Video Card yesterday night... I know this is dumb. I had the case open and basically what happened is he jumped on a tiny table, the table fell directly inside the box, on the card, while the computer was turned on, playing World of Warcraft. The computer froze then refused to display anything on reboot. After inspecting the card, there are 2 burnt marks on the board.

My setup consist of:
E2180 Intel @ 2.0 (No OC)
2 gigs of ram
Some crappy ASRock Motherboard, but the thing is stable
Samsung LCD 22" , native res 1680 x 1050

Where I am currently, cheapest prices of the 2 cards I am looking at:

1. Sapphire Radeon 4670 512 DDR3 128bit ~$120 USD
2. eVGA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 ~$150 USD

Taking into account my current hardware and native resolution of 1680x1050 of my 22" Samsung LCD, what would YOU recommend and why?

Thanks a lot for your help, I'm no hardware expert and I just can't device what would be the best card for me, advise is very appreciated.

Edit: corrected some typos and grammar, typed too fast

Do you stay in the US ??? Am asking this because the prices u have specified for those cards are very high compared to the prices in the US...they sell for around $90...

No, I've specified in my first paragraph why the prices are so high. I'm an expat working in Mexico. And those are my only choices in term of prices. I know newegg has them at ridiculous prices.

ohhh...my bad...
Well u can get the ATI 4670...The 9600GT is powerful but not worth the extra $30...
The 4670 is very gud...
Well you can try and get the ATI 4830...am sure if the 4670 is around $120, then for $150 u can get the 4830...It is more powerful than the 9600GT, and performs nearly the same as the 9800 or even better...
