I recently built myself the following computer.....

19" 1440x900 Monitor
AMD PII 940 3.0GHz
4GB DDR2 1066 Memory
AMD 790GX Mobo w/ ATI Integrated HD3300 Video Card

I installed crysis to see how it would run and it barely ran on low settings so ive decided thats just not good enough for me, so i ask.....what is the best ATI graphics solution for $200 or less?????

Let me know what you guys think, it can be 1 card or 2 cards crossfire, doesnt matter to me....i just want to get the best performance out of $200 that i can

thanks

Gigabyte hd 4870 1GB for $169 or HIS HD4870 1gb for $179 at newegg

I agree, HD4870 1GB or 512MB, or HD4850 1GB or 512MB. Possibly even a GTX 260 core 216, but the Radeon cards are better. You would really only need the 1GB if you are doing a lot of gaming with AA, AF and at 1920x1200 or better. A 4870 512MB would be great.

Depends on your plans, 1440x900 is quite a small resoloution, if you intend to purchase a larger monitor, get the 1Gb HD4870, if not then go for the 512 Mb version and save a few (insert local currency here). Its getting hard to recommend the 4850, even at such a low resoloution, given the fairly small price difference between it and the faster HD4870.

The HD 4870 is definitely your price point. Fantastic card for the price. Personally I would go with http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Prod [...] e=10010168 as XFX offers a fantastic warranty and support.
