I just unpacked my old Dell desktop and booted it up. Lots of cobwebs in there. I have Windows XP ver.2002 SP 2 installed. I had many items that were unstable and a few things that just plain did not work anymore. I (in my infinite wisdom) dug out all the Dell preinstalled cd's (computer came with software pre-installed) and proceeded to do a reinstall via the repair option. I watched in horror several messages that said ..reformating drive...etc. I was not doing a repair. I was wiping everything out and reinstalling. When it was finished I checked to see where my stuff was. Tons of programs gone. 5 years of music and writing gone. On the lighter side, all the other stuff that didn't work was running just fine. Is there any way that all of this deleted stuff is recoverable?
