There is no bigger fan of overkill when it comes to power than me, but you have taken it to a whole new level.

Haha, this is pretty funny I must say

Running 3 psu“s at 10 to 20% load instead of one at 30 to 60% load where it is the most efficient is kind of strange. Presuming that they are all 80% efficient there is three times the power loss.
It spells Global Warming!

I would never taint my JD with ice, that would be a crime of the lowest order.

A small boy was lost at a large shopping mall. He approached a uniformed policeman and said, "I've lost my grandpa"

The cop asked, "What's he like?"

The little boy replied, "Jack Daniels and women with big tits."

ive read its bad to unbalance your psu. ie, its not a good idea to use the 12v on one psu and the 5v on another. it creates imbalances.

or so i read.

Reply to neon neophyte

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuc [...] ading.html it says it has more to do with crossing old power supplies with newer ones basically since older computers use more power on different rails it causes the load to be higher than what a new psu expects so if it gets to imbalanced the psu might shut down. this what you were talking about? im not very worried since all three power supplies are new and my pc isnt too old either. stop me if im wrong

NEW: HUGE heatsink new cpu 7750 dual core black edition overclocked to 3.2ghz THREE 5000+rpm case fans that are making a ruckus in my house. my wife cant stand them.. but i love them lol core doesnt go above 30 even on full load :P ill put up pictures later

Reply to ursalog

Just curious, what size are those 5000 RPM fans?

2 120mm shitty clear led ones for 2 ultra beef 5000 rpm 120s that sound like jet engines 1 top fan sissy 60mm for one ultra beef top exhaust 60mm and a stock amd heatsink for that sweet one you see in the pic

edit: the top fan is also 5000+rpm edit again: its also a 80mm not a 60

The high RPM fans are best for removing heat from the case as I've stated in other threads especially if you live where the weather get hot. I try to balanced high RPM's and dba, I don't mind a little noise but too much is very irritating. Can you control the speed? I'm running these which work well, see specs:

Exhaust:
Thermaltake A2018 120mm

Everywhere else:
Thermaltake A1926 120mm

im aiming for overkill dont care bout my ears lol oh and yes i can vary the rpms but i lke the sound at full blast lol kinda like white noise... the way a jet puts u to sleep during a flight lol

I run this one on my air cooled rig, its a good cooler if you don't want to take the motherboard out.

Reply to starams5

Yeah looks pretty much the same as mine cept for intels i like mine, its huge and keeps my cpu relly cool, well so do the other sick fans i have lol but the huge heatsink is cool, kinda shiny so i put a big amd sticker on it lol

Reply to ursalog

Yes, they're basically the same, one Intel version and the other for AMD.

Hey Ursa, keep up the cool work man, i love checking in this thread to see what you've done.

I do have two quick questions though, you mentioned you used the

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835185125

for your rig. Did you have to pull and put mounts on the MoBo for that? Also, was it difficult to get on? I've run into issues on another system with a different heatsink and sometimes its hard to get the damn things seated right.

Reply to Kithzaru

looks like the stupid link didn't work, sorry. You can use the one from your thread lol

Reply to Kithzaru

nah i tried installing it with the mounts off and i couldnt get to the screws, the problem i had was the angle on the solid part of the heatsinks base was a lil too wide so it woudlnt fit right, so i bent it in a bit with some needle nose and it fit like a charm. well after some wriggling in, didnt even have to pull the motherboard out even tho it is verry big lol
