I'm looking for a AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 266Mhz FSB. Let me say it again, 266Mhz. Anybody know of a good online store, or store in Canada, or even better a store in Edmonton, Alberta that sells one.
You can buy an Athlon XP (with the Barton or Thoroughbred B core for example) that supports 333 FSB, and still run it at 266 speed. 333 is just a new option, it doesn't mean you can't use a chip that is capable of handling 333 DDR, at 266MHz.
The Palomino cores (which they don't make anymore), and Thoroughbred A cores only officially support 266 FSB.
What's probably more important to you is, making sure your motherboard can handle the multiplier factor of at 2600+ I believe the 2600+ model has a multiplier factor of 15.5 I think certain older boards like the VIA 266 and SiS 735 only will support a factor of up to 13, or something like that. I have an MSI version of the SiS 745, and with their latest BIOS update, I can support up to a 2600+
