I'm looking for a AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 266Mhz FSB. Let me say it again, 266Mhz. Anybody know of a good online store, or store in Canada, or even better a store in Edmonton, Alberta that sells one.

You can buy an Athlon XP (with the Barton or Thoroughbred B core for example) that supports 333 FSB, and still run it at 266 speed. 333 is just a new option, it doesn't mean you can't use a chip that is capable of handling 333 DDR, at 266MHz.

The Palomino cores (which they don't make anymore), and Thoroughbred A cores only officially support 266 FSB.

What's probably more important to you is, making sure your motherboard can handle the multiplier factor of at 2600+ I believe the 2600+ model has a multiplier factor of 15.5 I think certain older boards like the VIA 266 and SiS 735 only will support a factor of up to 13, or something like that. I have an MSI version of the SiS 745, and with their latest BIOS update, I can support up to a 2600+

Here are some of my favorite online shops

I'm not precisely sure if they ship to Canada - but even if it isn't an official policy, you could probably pay them a little extra to do it.

I've also ordered from http://www.the3dshop.com/

http://www.techonweb.com/ seems to have good prices, I'm waiting to get my first shipment from them

Alot of people rave about newegg.com , but I've personally never been to or ordered from this place myself.

I always thought it was the other way around.
ie, 266Mhz chip will work with 333Mhz board.

But I'll look into it!

Thanks!
