Yes but, it only has 2 rails of 20a, pretty low on railing for the whole computer.

2x 20amps on 12v rails? If it has a total of 40amps he should be fine. I think the GTX260 requires 36 or so amps

Im gonna have a e8400, 320gb hdd , disc reader,17 inch screen and mouse/keyboerd

wow, no video card requires that much amperage bluescreen.

If you had 1 18a railing and 3 others to supply every thing else at 18a's each, then it would be fine but,

you have 2 rails, 1 rail goes to the gpu always, thats enough for the gpu, now you have the other rail to rely on everything else.

what do you think...

...Im fine? a calculator told me imma only use 359w max

^ fullmetal,
well I thought I read that '36amps' figure for the gtx260 from newegg specs or something...not entirely sure

I'm pretty sure hes right about 36 amps and 4870 is rated at like 38 amps max or something i'm sure it's rated well above what's needed to make sure it will run

Yes, you did but that is for an entire system not the card alone. I mean we aren't running nuclear reactors in our PC's for crying out loud. Also keep in mind that they are basing those requirements on some pretty heavy duty systems. If you read the requirements for the BFG GTX260 there is this:

Quote :

525W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 38A or more*

^notice the star. Said star denotes:

Quote :

*Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 processor

The other misconception here is that 2, 20 amp rails have 40 amps combined. This isn't true. Each rail can handle up to 20 amps independently, but they can't sustain that when both rails are under load. Looking at his PSU label, he has 360-380 watts (can't quite read it) going to the +12v rails. This means that he only has a combined total of around 30 amps.

I don't trust Kingwin as a company. IMO, you may be better off with a better quality unit from Corsair or such.

I wouldn't bother with a GTX260 for that size, HD4830 or 9800GT is plenty.
