SSD bottlenecked by cpu? Tags: Hard Drives SSD CPUs HD Storage Last response: September 13, 2010 4:14 AM in Storage Share mcg75 September 12, 2010 10:26:51 PM Using HD tune, my Intel SSD will hit a maximum of 175mbs read when my Core i7-860 is running stock. When mildly overclocking the 860 to 3.4ghz, the SSD will hit 235mbs on HD tune. Maybe this is normal but I don't believe it is. The SSD should have no trouble hitting those speeds even using stock settings. Anybody shine some light on this? If the CPU is pegged at 100% then you're probably operating in PIO mode for some reason. Can't find your answer ? Ask !
