Does anyone have an answer to this question? Thanks.
For a flight to Mars, a rocket is launched in the direction the earth is
moving in its orbit about the sun. For a flight to Venus, it is launched
in the direction opposite of the earth's orbit. Why??

Cite please, and more importantly, why not/who cares?

One possible reason comes to mind: Venus is in an orbit CLOSER to the
sun than the earth is.Therefore opposing trajectory launch.Mars is in an
orbit FARTHER from the sun than earth, therefore an inline trajectory
launch.
