Hey People =D

Just need to find out something, I have a C2D E8400 OC to 3.59 Ghz EP45-DS4P mobo and 4 Gigs of G.skill 1066 RAm. Will this set up bottleneck a EVGA GTX 295?

I play at 1280x1000, will be getting a 20" monitor in a couple weeks. I LAN alot so don't want anything too big =D

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello

1. No since you have OC the E8400, smart move!

It wouldnt bottleneck it at stock, it wouldnt be running as fast as it could but that dosent make it bottlenecked (technically). Almost always a faster CPU will result in a FPS increase. I say almost as if you have a weaker card that is running flat out already then obviously throwing info at it faster isnt going to help.

For anything less than 1920 x 1200 (i personally think 2560 x 1600 except Crysis), GTX 295 is overkill. You can settle for a 4850x2. Its more than enough for your resolution.

The GTX is coming down in price lately. I saw it today or yesterday for around $360 after MIR.

I already bought mine, R 7 200,00 which is around $700... I know what you are thinking but that is a good price here in SA. We are 3rd world so electronic stuff is F#^@ing expensive. Wish I lived in USA =D

Well that is not true games like stalker clear sky, crysis, Cryostasis, farcry2, empire total war, the GTX295 will not achieve good performance at 1920x1200 with (max settings). So having the GTX295 with 1680x1050 will not be a bad idea.

You base your experience to a 19" monitor and 8600GT.

I find this hard to believe...where did you see that price? Considering they're so difficult to find as it is, I don't see any motivation for sellers to lower prices.
