I have 4GB of Corsair RAM on Windows Vista 32 bit home edition.

When idle my RAM is still 27% used, does Vista really use that much or is something else afoot?

With 4GB you really ought to be using Vista 64.

32bit vista you relly only get the 3.5gigs - your video card so 27% is just about right near a gig of memory for vista.

Turn off the Aero feature and the Windows sidebar, thats what eats up your resources.
