Plan on buying all this tonight. Build will use existing hard drives, monitor, and keyboard/mouse. Any input is appreciated. Monitor is Dell Ultrasharp 24". I know the power supply is overkill, but I plan on crossfire down the line, probably a 4870x2 once prices drop for three way xfire.

Special thanks to xthekidx for all his help selecting components.

Total is $1115 before rebates. Everything is from newegg except power supply.

Im not fond of the Ulta psu, Id get a pcp&c. Looks like a fun build though. get an extra tricool fan for the front of that case. for the lower hdd cage

I have always said Ultra has some good PSUs, but lately I have seen reports that they re-labeled some 550W PSUs as 750W and sold them that way.

The X3 is supposed to be good and all, but I would probably go with a Corsair.

Ultra doesn't send their units out for review, so based on that and the (two) reports I have seen about re-labeling, I would avoid them when other choices are available.

With a $1k+ budget I wouldn't settle for a mediocre case. Go for a quality Lian-Li or Cooler Master case. It's one of the few components that lasts between builds. You won't regret it putting another $50 into it.
