Hard drive not working.

Hi,
My hard drive is not working anymore, it gets detected by windows but i do not see any data inside and i get the message that it needs to be formatted, can anyone help, I never dropped it.

It sounds like the Master Boot Record (MBR) or the Partition Tables have been corrupted. You could try TestDisk to see if it can find your folders and files. If it can, it can rebuild your partition a tables and restore your MBR.
