I have had a pny 9800gtx+ card, the box says, "two pci-psu power connectors required".
Opening the box, I found that the card has only one slot for one pci power connector.
the card is not recognized by Vista!
I dimly recall that some video card, or another, needed a "Y" sub-connector from the psu, to combine two pci plugins into one plugin, which is then used for that one card plug slot, the six-pin connector.
I wonder if this is the reson why my card is not installible?!
if so, too too bad that they do not place such a "Y' connector in the box, one just cannot go down the street and find one of these in the local
big-box store!
That doesn't matter much if the card itself is missing power connectors.....
Freestonew: 9800GTX's do indeed require 2 6-pin power connectors. And also, those Y connectors are usually for a 4-pin Molex connector which then converts into a PCI-e connector. IMO, return your card and pick a different brand or start buying from a different store.
