Hi I'm planning on running a 1055t on a msi nf980 motherboard. I plan on overclocking it to 3.8ghz - 4ghz. My problem is which one should I go for? I can't seem to find direct comparisons of the hyper and the v6gt on a 1055t.

I can get the hyper 212 for $20 at frys, while I can get the V6GT for $55 at microcenter. I'm leaning more towards the V6GT atm just because it looks so sexy and will look even better in my haf 922.

Setup that I'll be running

1055T OC'ed 3.8-4ghz
DDR3 RAM (debating)
MSI NF980 Motherboard
Galaxy GTX 460 768mb SLI (possible OC as well)
OCZ gamexstream 850w psu

The hyper 212 is a pretty ballin' cooler. It's the SBC of cpu Coolers.

SBC as in the ISP? If thats the case whats the comcast of cpu coolers? I would get a megahalem but I refuse to do buy it as their amd mounts suck.

Do you have transparent case? If you don't then how you can see inside your case?
That Hyper 212+ has MANY good reviews, so you'll better with that cooler... :)

Well I was planning to get the haf 932 for the transparency but it was just too big, and the haf 922 didn't have a side panel but fit my budget. Its just it would be a plus when I open my case to add parts or check something that I see a beasty setup as the hyper 212+ is pretty ugly...

I guess I'll go with the hyper 212+ for now and save the v6gt for a future upgrade or something

Hyper 212+ may not be the sexiest cooler but it works great. Probably the best performing cooler for the price.
