When I am trying to sync some songs in wma format from WinXP with WMP 10
with my Axim X30 upgraded to include WMP 10 I get this error message:
"Error: Windows Media Player cannot play the protected file because the
required security upgrade is not available for download."

what da hell does this mean?

thanks, Brian

I've never seen that error (but then I don't use DRM files, they are
the spawn of satan). Did you see an error number with that message ?
Sometimes the error number is easier to search for.

Maybe some of these pages will help :
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=34740

Try to see if you need to update your DRM component : WM DRM Update
http://services.wmdrm.windowsmedia [...] divit3.htm

If you did get an actual error number with that message (you should
have) take a look on here, see if it's listed for a better explanation

Hi Neil, thanks for your try but it didn't help and there is no error code.
i quoted the message exactly as it appears and applied that DRM update.
