I've been playing Eve online for roughly 5 yrs and their new expansion has upgraded to shader model 2 minimum and suggested it will go to shader model 3 minimum towards the end of the year.
My poor computer cant handle this so im looking at having one built for me but would like a bit of input as to what graphics card and processor i should go for.
Please no hugely expensive set ups as we are in a recession ( lol ) and im not mega rich ! Good solid performance with value fo rmoney is what im after...fire away ..any suggestion smuch appreciated..
Cheers

For processor i'd look at the E7400 at $120 as the lowest priced CPU, then the E8400 at $165. A tri-core Phenomll (720BE) at $146 would also be a valid and budget minded option.

Depending on what monitor size/screen resolution you use a HD4830 at $90, a HD4850 at $130 or a 9800GTX+/GTS250 at $130 would be fine for that game.

For motherboards a P45 for the intel CPUs, a 790GX for the AMD

Lower or higher priced options are available, much would depend on your budget.

You can run EVE on a lower processor any decent x2 cpu is fine, and any gard that is 8800 or greater such as 8800gt, gts , 9600, amd 4630, 4650 or better will do just fine with eve.

I quit because they "balanced" all the fun out of the game and pirates have all the advantages.
