when i hook up my EVGA e-GeForce 8400 GS card i just got and my monitor show a picture through the bios and the Windows XP load screen with the blue load bar at the bottom but once it gets to the welcome screen and the desktop i lose all visuals on my monitor and i dont know wut to do.

i tried and i got the same thing and i was wondering if it was maybe sumthing in the bios but i dont know what it could be cuz their isnt any options in it that would be it and i tried a different graphics card as well

Visuals disappear on mine at the same point as your's, but they do come back to me.
Try a Windows repair.

Did you try booting into safe mode, and making sure any previous drivers are uninstalled. Also, try your other monitor output from your video card if you haven't already.

OK i figured it out i just updated my bios and then i was able to do it XD

How u did it .. I have same problem.. My Bios Latters are Blue and Yellow...
I have GeForce 8400GS. Problem was nvddlmkm.sys then The Computer was shut down and when i restart it , i saw Blue Colors and un Bios Red Lines.
