We are looking for a good place to share files amongst a number of users who all work remotely. Currently we are using MSA Groove which is effectively now a dead end product.

I have had a look at DropBox (www.dropbox.com) doesn't look too bad but though there must be other similar services out there.

Basic requirement is to share files (mainly PDFs, INDDs and JPGs) ranging in size up to a few MB, so they can be altered and reviewed by the team.

Any thoughts?

If you are talking about 2/3/4 etc. locations and they all good down and up (T1 or higher) I would setup a network storage unit to share documents over VPN to locations and users. I would not try to have multiple people working on pdfs at the same time.

If you have a larger budget, I would setup a secure sharepoint via vpn.

I prefer to use ActiveKeys over VPN

Its a group of 4-5 people, all reasonably local to each other.

Internet connectivity is ADSL & ADSL2, realistic transfer rates are around 500-800K upstream, 5-10MB downstream.

We have looked at VPN's in the past but they haven't worked out to be practical.
