Do you think I can go Crossfire with 2 4870s with that PSU?

  1. Yeah man, I like it! Should smoke your current setup and it's got a little future-proofing to boot. That mobo is gonna be sweet, and you'll be able to upgrade to the AM3 Phenom II X4 when they're available. I say do it!

–500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

If you want to crossfire 4870s you need the Corsair 750TX, because the 650TX only has 2 x 6pin connectors, but you could crossfire the 4850s with a 650TX, they only have one 6 pin connector. Or you might be able to throw some 6 pin adapters on the Molex connectors, I haven't done that before so I'm not sure if that works, maybe someone else knows...
  2. Do you think CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply will work with 1 4870 and the new Phenom II X4 AM3 Processor OCed.
  3. I wouldn't go with less than 650W at this point if you're overclocking, the 550VX only has one PCIe 6 pin connector and the 4870 needs two.
  4. The 650TX is a great deal on Newegg right now, that is the one I'd go with.
