I just bought PDC28G6400LLQK memory from patriot and it states the that latency should be 4-4-4-12, and run at 2.2 volts, when i do this the computer crashes and i get the blue screen. however if i swich the timings to 5-5-5-12 it does not crash. please help me with this if you can. my motherboard is d975xbx2

not sure if you did or not but the voltage must be brought up to spec as well as the timings

another thing first bring up the voltage, then bring the timings down n increments not all at once.

Did you change the voltage from 1.8 to 2.2?

yes, i did change the voltage, and then i restared, then i changed one value at a time, no matter which one i changed the system would crash. Im wondering if they went me the wrong ram, or if i am just stupid and doing something wrong.

please post all of them here......

well i have an intel d975xbx2 so i am using intel bio's, there is an option to overclock memory. It askes me what i would like to set all the settings from 5 down to 4, i change 3 different items, i believe they are cas and stuff like that, i dont know the technical names, anyway i change all of them to 4 and then i leave the last value at 12. if you need more specifics just ask, and ill write them down. but i change everything, or even if i change one at a time it crashes. i also changed the voltage to 2.2 which is fine, the ram seems stable as long as you leave everything at 5

Yes write ALL the values that you have changed please.... there are MANY values that need to be changed an many that need to be left on Auto in order for your system to find stability......

I am not sure which of these values i have changed besides for the overclocking of the fsb and so forth, and some of this info you may not need but ill put it all down here anyway
enhanced power slope is enabled
fsb voltage is at 1.250
mch/ich voltage is at 1.525
host clock frequency changed from 266 to 275
processor voltage is at 1.325ov
reference frequency is at default
memory frequency is at 800mhz
tcl is 5 when stable
trcd is 5 when stable
trp is 5 when stable
trasmin is 12
voltage is 2.20 for ram
PCI bus is at 33.33 mhz
PCI latency timer is 32
HPET is disabled.

PCI bus should be at 100Mhz and you are missing many memory timings as well.....

Yea sorry about that one, my bios if fairly different than yours....

You should have a value named "Command Rate" , change it to 2T

You should have about 10 different values for the RAM alone, don't know why you cannot see them.....
