I bought an XFX 9800 gtx + for a new build. When it arrived i realized they had forgotten to give me the cord to adapt the molex power supply cables to pci plugs.
I have one six pin pci e power cord on my psu, but the video card has two places on it to plug in pci e cords.
Does it need to have 2 of them plugged in to run or is the one to be used to jumper the power to another card in an SLI setup?

The manual is bad to the point of being nearly useless, so any help would be appreciated.

You need both 6 pins plugged in.

^ What he said.

You can pick up a molex adapter at a local computer shop for pretty cheap. Last I saw, Best Buy had them for $5 which isn't too bad.

Yeah, when I first installed mine I read the manual wrong and had just the one PCI in (manual showed two different set ups, one using a pcie and one using two molex into a ysplitter) didn't realise it needed both, for about a month I would turn on my PC and the error message telling me it's not receiving enough power blah blah blah came up, I thought it was becaue I had a 580w PSU isntead of the recomended 600w, replaced it, no joy... and then It clicked....

I felt such a fool =]
