Why not install the Windows 7 RC? I don't have a link to it here at work, but I'm pretty sure it is still available.
As to the memory, your board needs DDR3. The articles I have read on the subject suggest that DDR3-1333 is fine; the benefit of DDR3-1600 is too small to be worth the price.
Look for a CAS latency of 7; cheap stuff is 9, which will be slower. Voltage should be as close to 1.5V as possible; much higher means the memory is already overclocked to get whatever timings it has, and at stock will probably be slower and/or unstable.

are win7 rc stable? as for the triple-channel kit, my mobo doesn't support it, so i think it's better to by dual and then some more if needed.

I've been running the Win7 RC for weeks now without a single crash, hiccup, or glitch.
