Hello,
Hey all.. I've been reading alot about overclocking lately but I have never done it before and I heard you could dmg your cpu from doing it.

Could someone out there please help me step by step to overclocking my cpu to 3.0 or more maybe?

My computer specs
Windows 7 64bit
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5600 Series
4gb ddr2 ram

Motherboard
Manufacturer: Asus
Motherboard Name: IPIBL-LA
HP/Compaq motherboard name: Berkeley-GL8E

Thanks all :)

Yeah the bad thing about Dell, HP, ect. besides the cheap parts that can not hold up to the increased heat and voltages that are caused by overclocking is that they lock the BIOS to keep you from trying to overclock. They want you to buy a new machine if you need more performance not overclock the one you have.
