Hey guys,

The current Heatsink that is installed in my computer is a Taisol 12V DC Ball Bearing 70mm heatsink that came originally with my Gateway 838GM. I've been replacing and upgrading my system for a while and now the CPU and core temps are going up.

Im looking for a new heatsink possibly -

Would this fit?? I believe I have a 478 socket?? But how would can i find out for sure??

(Pentium 4HT 3.0GHz Processor 630)

Otherwise, what other GOOD and preferably around $40-70 heatsink plus fans are good???

Thanks!

Hmmmm

i think the only way to find out the socket type is take off your current heatsink and look at the processor

if its a P4 with pins its 478

if its a P4 with no pins then its LGA 775\

sorry if this is vague but i hope this helps

sorry for double posting on you

but the best way i can describe it is:

if the top of the processor looks like an AMD its 478

if it looks like this then its an LGA 775( has two indents on the processor head)

hope this clarifies things
