Hey guys,

Which brand 4870x2 is better? Asus or Sapphire. I googled around, but i couldnt find. Prices wise, sapphire is much cheaper, but im a nut about performance so thus the question.

Thanks in advance

Saphire is a top notch brand.
That being said, unless one or the other is factory overclocked, they will perform exactly the same.
Go for the cheaper of the two.

Not sure, I have only used an ATI branded card and a Sapphire card. So far so good with the sapphire.

But if it is the ASUS card with the triple fan cooling ontop I would take the asus.

I am noticing a shortage of 4870x2 cards online.....maybe there is a 4890x2 in the works.

I suspect there is a replacement model on the horizon.

Newegg.com generally has about 10 of these cards listed, now there are only 4 and 1 of which is listed as out of stock. I am not even finding ASUS cards listed at Tiger.com, newegg.com or amazon.com

Looks like zipzomfly.com has the same stock. This generally means the cards are being phased out. I would keep my ear to the ground before shelling out 400+ dollars for a card that will be outpaced in a matter of weeks.
