Error C00D1189 WMP Sync to iPAQ

Does anyone have any details or information about how to get Windows Media
Player to convert MPG and MOV files for the PocketPC?

This is the error I get on every file that I try to convert:

You've encountered error message C00D1189 while using Windows Media Player.
You might be able to find a solution for this error by using one of the
following support resources.

The desktop WMP plays these files just fine so it has the appropriate codecs
loaded. I have an HP 4155.

I never did get WMP on the PC to do it, but I downloaded the free Microsoft
Windows Media Encoder v9 and used that. You can get it from MS's download
site.
