I'm in the market for an X58 Motherboard, and after a bunch of research, can't find a whole lot of information on Mobo power usage and heat output.
The numbers from Tom's x58 articles for heat and wattage are pretty much all I've found, and they have some strange results, and some strikingly large differences between models with otherwise identical parts. For example, The P6T SE runs a full 10C cooler than the P6T, but uses close to the same amount of power. 10C is a huge difference, certainly way more than the difference in performance.
so my questions are:
1. Does anyone have any more heat/power information for X58 motherboards? (especially Workstation models)
2. With regards to workstation branded motherboards, are they generally cooler and more energy efficient / more stable? I've been looking at the P6T WS Pro but there is virtually NO information about it.
3. Anyone own the Foxconn Renaissance? It's on sale at Newegg for 199.
