I'll agree...Microsoft Security Essentials is good, but obviously, so is common sense.
I supplement with Secunia PSI...it scans your programs and helps you keep them patched/up-to-date. I also use Superantispyware, malwarebytes, and ccleaner.
MSE is good. I'd also try booting into safe mode (with networking) with something like MalwareBytes or SuperAntiSpyware (both free). You can update the definitions and scan away. One of those should be able to clean up that virus for you.
Get Comodo Firewall for Windows AV is included and u have a option not to install FW. All x64 with the best firewall for the money : )
