I just upgraded my video card from a XFX Geforce 8600 GTS 512mb to a Geforce 260 (896mb).

Other hardware specs:

600 OCZ StealthXstream (outputting 18A on 4 12v rails)
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.2 Ghz process
2 TB hard drives
SB X-fi xtreme gamer sound card
4GB of ram with Windows XP

I haven't noticed a change in my FPS on WOW.

I'm running these drivers for the video card:

GeForce Driver Release 182 WHQL
Version: 182.08
Release Date: March 03, 2009

What am I doing wrong?

Wow thats strange.

I switched from a 9600 to 9800GT, to GTX 260 and didn't notice a change in fps too.

There's no reason it should be bottlenecking since 3.2ghz duo core is plenty.

What kind of motherboard are you using? and what type of monitor.

Ever think that WOW limits the FPS or you have vsync on?

I don't know the answer to either question

FPS limits are pretty common. WoW is probably one of them.
(ie. Many RTS games are locked at 30fps.)

Try turning vsync off in the game options.

What games can I use to benchmark my card? I've seen that COD 4 is a good one to try. What others do you recommend? And do they have settings or console commands to display FPS or do I have to download FRAPS?

Forgot to reply to this message. I'm using a XFX nforce 610i mobo. I'm running 2 Gateway® HD2201 monitors at 1680x1024 (native)
