My computer has a 50/50 chance to do one of the following:

1) Boot completely normal

2) Power on, fans 100%, no video

I'm guessing it has something to do with the CMOS. My CMOS jumper does not have a cap on it, I don't remember it ever having one, so the jumper is just two bare pins sticking up. That is supposed to be the CLEAR position correct? How is it my PC boots up completely fine sometimes? Perhaps a problem with the CMOS battery?

Is it bad to not have a CMOS jumper cover, or does it not matter on some motherboards?

Check your mobo manual. There the normal jumper position will be shown as well as the position to clear the cmos.

I went to DIT computers and they gave me a jumper cap for free.

So far it's starting fine but now the internet connection is not working. I get wireless interenet on my laptop, I plugged the same ethernet into a different computer and got internet, and I reinstalled my Nvidia Ethernet drivers. It still says This connection has limited or no connectivity.

What's wrong?

Try shutting down the pc and completely cut the power by switching off the power supply. Turn it back on and start the pc. See it works again.

Edit: do not forget to keep your power supply switched off for about half a minute.
