Good morning/afternoon/evening. I'm trying to match the correct (non-overclocked) memory type to each line of processors from Intel and AMD.
AMD Athlon X2
AMD Athlon II X2 (Phenom Based)
AMD Phenom X3
AMD Phenom X4
AMD Phenom II X2
AMD Phenom II X3
AMD Phenom II X4
Intel Celeron (E1xxx)
Intel Pentium Dual Core (E5xxx)
Intel Core 2 Duo (E7xxx and E8xxx)
Intel Core 2 Quad (Q8xxx and Q9xxx)
Intel Core i7
Intel Core i7 Extreme
I've done all the research I can do online but have not found any conclusive evidence stating the default/native memory type and speed (not latency) of most of the processor lines from Intel or AMD. Coming from a long past of using AMD processors in my systems, I'm aware that the Athlon X2 series is definitely DDR2-800 based. I'm not 100% positive about the Phenoms though, or any of the Intel lines.
I am aware of the bus speed for all of the series above, but not whether it is a DDR2 or DDR3 memory specification. Again, i'm not interested in "overclocked" memory speeds, just the "native" non-oc'd memory that the processors require to function at the full native clock speeds. Any input? Thanks in advance.
