AMD x4 955 overclocking question

OK heres my main specs:
mobo: Asus M4A785TD-V EVO
case: antec 300
cpu: amd x4 955 black edition
gpu: hd 5770
psu: XFX 650W XXX Edition
ram: Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz Memory Kit Unbuffered CL9

I was wondering if it is possible to overclock with these specs? and if so what cpu cooler should I get

I think you got your GPU and PSU mixed up.

Anyway, yes you'll be able to overclock with those specs. I'd suggest the Cooler Master Hyper 212 + if you're going for a budget cooler and the Scythe mugen 2 rev. B, Thermalright TRUE or a the Noctua NH-D14 if you've got the money to spend.

Sure you can overclock! I have a Phenom II X4 940 AM2+ @ 3.0ghz overclocked to 3.4ghz and it runs cool and stable with a $20 aftermarket cooler. If you get a top of the line cooler, you will have better luck and probably get a higher overclock.

OK guys i'm all ready to overclock my cpu! (i have the money that is) So what cpu cooler can i get for around £40. Although I would prefer the lower the price the better as i have about £280 to buy a new future proof graphics card AND the cpu cooler needs to be included in that. Also if i need thermal paste etc. can you list that as well please thanks.

Also could you direct me to a guide for overcloking amd cpus.. thanks
